Meet lady who won $18,000 MasterCard grant. A brilliant Nigerian Lady named Oluwabunmi Amosu who graduated the McGill University in Canada with a perfect CGPA (100%) record has beaten her colleagues to emerge as the winner of the Mastercard Foundation Startup Awards of $18,000.
Oluwabunmi Amosu in 2020, won the MasterCard Foundation Scholarship to earn a Master’s degree in Education and Society at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She graduated from the institution with a perfect CGPA record (4.0/4.0) in 2022.
Following her incredible academic feat in Canada, Oluwabunmi Amosu shines again at the 2022 McGill Dobson Bootcamp & Cup Competitions where she pitched the idea of her startup – Smart Innovation Hub and emerged first out of the many applicants.
According to McGill university while highlighting her outstanding impact during her study in the institution, she had co-founded Smart Innovation Hub while completing a master’s in Education and Society.
“Smart Innovation Hub won $18,000 for first place in the Mastercard Foundation Startup Awards and third place in the Dobson Social Impact Enterprise Track,” Oluwabumi Amosu explains.

Oluwabumi Amosu thanked the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program for granting her the opportunity to gain exposure and experience in Canada, citing that her records and awards would have been achieved without the award.
“All these awards and entrepreneurship exposure wouldn’t have been possible without my scholarship at McGill University, all thanks to the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program,” she said.
