Young African Lady bounces back after dropping out of school due to lack of money

A young Lady from South Africa named Trustee Mashego has overcome the challenges of money (lack of finance) as she earns a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mpumalanga in South Africa and won a Master’s scholarship to study in Belgium

Trustee Mashego who earned her Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture narrated through her LinkedIn profile that she had lost funding for her university education in 2017 which prompted her to drop out.

According to her, she completed her High School education in 2015 and enrolled at university in 2016. Unfortunately, she lost her funding and had to drop out due to money in 2017.

Trustee Mashego said she felt highly disappointed but later got another chance to re-enrol for a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture at the University of Mpumalanga. “God gave me a second chance to turn my life around and I was admitted to a new institution in 2018 where I enrolled for a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture,” she said.

Trustee Mashego scaled through on the second attempt and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Agriculture. She immediately registered for her Master’s degree under the sponsorship of The National Research Foundation of South Africa (NRF).

Just a few months after earning the NRF’s sponsorship, Trustee Mashego won another Master’s degree scholarship to study at the Ghent University in Ghent, Belgium. “Just a few months ago, with the help of my supervisor, i accepted a scholarship by the VLIR-UOS to pursue a second Master’s degree at Ghent University starting in September,” she said.

She dedicated her success to her family and friends, her academic supervisor and God. “I’m still a great work in progress in many areas of my life, but my God, I’m far from where i come from,” she said.
