Youth Delegate Program 2022 (Cohort 7)

Application is now open for Youth Delegate Program 2022. YDP is an intensive 3-month program that supports our Delegates in improving their changemaking skills (both hard and soft), and invites young people to work around our common mission of achieving the SDGs by 2030.

During the 2022 Youth Delegate Program, Delegates connect with like-minded young leaders, strengthen their leadership skills, build their capacity to lead and potentially create sustainable global change, and take action for a better world.

Who are these Youth Delegates?

Delegates are young Changemakers who are aiming to have a better understanding of themselves, and how to create an impact in their communities. Cohort 7 of the Youth Delegate Program will support 200 Changemakers from around the world who are committed to learn from peers, become more self-aware, build community and be action oriented.

About the Youth Delegate Program 2022

The Youth Delegate Program is a 14 Weeks of Leadership Development.
Cohort 7 of the Youth Delegate Program kicks off on July 11th, 2022 and lasts until October 17th, 2022.
Delegates will follow a 14-week non-academic curriculum designed to build delegates’ capacity to create change, influence others, and take action.
Peer-to-Peer Mentorship: all Delegates will join a Track, or a group of like-minded Changemakers that meets on a weekly basis to discuss the leadership problems they’re facing, how to solve them and how to potentially turn solutions into action
Engaging Workshops & Events: Each Monday during the Program, Delegates gather from 10 am – 12pm EST for an engaging workshop that aligns with the Leadership topic for the week. This will offer the opportunity to utilize the topics discussed in the curriculum to potentially turn them into tangible outcomes.

Benefits of the Youth Delegate Program 2022

Strengthen your leadership skills. The 14-week leadership curriculum covers topics around 3 core thematic areas:

Phase 1 (Weeks 1 -4): Self Awareness & Changemaker Leadership
Phase 2 (Weeks 5 – 10): Partnership, Influence, & Collaboration
Phase 3 (Weeks 11 – 14): Action, Problem Solving, & Changing the World

Build your capacity as a Changemaker through action. Each Delegate joins a “Track,” which are small groups of Delegates who meet weekly to discuss the leadership problems they’re facing, how to solve them and how to potentially turn solutions into action. Tracks connect Delegates with a small group of their peers who may be facing similar challenges.

Connect with like-minded young leaders. Each Cohort is made up of a unique group of diverse Changemakers from all over the world. During the Cohort, Delegates have the opportunity to grow their network, both with their fellow Delegates, but also with Alumni and Community Members. The Youth Delegate Program is a great opportunity to connect and build authentic friendships with Changemakers who align with what you care about.

How to Apply for the Youth Delegate Program 2022

Step 1: Apply Online. The Youth Delegate Program is a personal development program. The YDP Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and priority is given to those who apply early.
Step 2: Attend a Group Interview. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a group interview with other prospective Delegates.
Step 3: Register and become a Youth Delegate. Once you have received your acceptance email, you can officially register! You will be selected to join a Track, and can register for the program to secure your space.
