How To Update Your Details For Sassa R350 SRD Grant
The information you provide to the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) is validated by the Department of Home Affairs. This information includes your ID number, Name and Surname. This is why the information you use to apply for the SRD grant must be correct.

If your marital status has changed during the current grant payment cycle, your surname may not be accurate. This, as you may have changed it when you got married or divorced.
Sassa says it’s important to validate your marital status at the Department of Home Affairs and ensure that your surname is correct. Failure to do this can result in your SRD grant application being rejected.
Here’s How To Update Your Personal Details For The R350 Grant
- Click here to visit the SRD website.
- Scroll down to “Request Names and Surname Update”.
- Enter your ID number, name and surname exactly as it appears in your SA ID document or card.

Only people between the age of 18 and 59-years old qualify for the SRD grant. More than 10 million people are currently benefiting from the SRD grant.
