BROOK’S Small Grants Programme For NGOs

Brook’s Small Grant Program is Supporting charities who specialize in improving the mental health and wellbeing of young people.

We believe there is an intrinsic link between positive mental health, positive sexual health and healthy relationships. That’s why Brook is distributing £50,000 to small and medium sized charities who specialise in improving the mental health and wellbeing of young people.

AIM OF BROOK’S SMALL GRANT PROGRAMME

Through Brook’s Small Grants Programme, we are distributing £50,000 to small and medium sized charities who specialise in improving the mental health and wellbeing of young people. We will provide grants between £2,500 and £10,000 each.

The types of outcomes we are seeking to support through this grant funding include, but are not limited to:

  • Reducing the risk of suicide amongst young people
  • Supporting young people with eating disorders
  • Supporting young people who self-harm
  • Providing opportunities for young people to participate in projects that improve mental wellbeing
  • Improving the confidence and knowledge of professionals and parents/carers to recognise young people’s needs and signpost to additional support.

APPLICATION PROCESS 

  • Please complete the online application form in full and ensure you answer all questions; incomplete application forms will not be accepted. We have provided a Word document with the application questions below that you can use to help formulate your responses, but only online applications will be accepted.
  • Please ensure you complete the online application form by midday on 10 January 2022.
  • Late applications will not be accepted, and we cannot accept postal applications.
  • Grant requests must be for a minimum of £2,500 and maximum of £10,000.
  • All applications will be evaluated by a panel of Brook staff, trustees and young people.
  • All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by 31 January 2022.
  • We will be unable to provide specific feedback to unsuccessful applicants.

IF YOU ARE AWARDED A GRANT

  • Your grant will be paid in three instalments, the first payment will be made on receipt of relevant grant paperwork. The final payment will be made on submission of your financial and evaluation report. If you do not complete your project or spend all the funds allocated, you will be expected to repay any unspent funds.
  • You will be required to submit quarterly progress reports and a final project evaluation report, alongside robust financial reporting on project spend.
  • You will be required to reference Brook as the project funder in all related project resources and promotional materials. Brook will provide brand guidelines.
  • Brook may publish information about the grant you have been awarded and the project you are delivering, and you may be asked to provide anonymised case studies from young people or blog posts to promote the Brook Small Grants Programme.
