iDixcover Opportunities Activities For The Month Of November, 2020.
Having shared several live changing opportunities to African youths, we also partnered with Global Youth Network to award five young Nigerians making difference in their respective field, their stories were as well shared on our platforms.
On 21st November, 2020 we partnered with Young Africa Leadership Initiative, Regional Leadership Center (YALI RLC) fellows during their community service to enlighten twenty (20) selected participants on importance of accessing opportunities and how they can access these opportunities.
The lectures were delivered by Mr. Abdullateef Olaosebikan, the CEO of Nafarm Foods, Mr. Mustapha Bulama, the Daily Trust Newspaper cartoonist, Miss Sakinat Bello, Special Adviser to Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai and Lastly our Founder Mr. Abdullateef Lawal who spoke on how a single opportunity can change someone’s life to good and how the Youth can access these opportunities.
In line with our agenda to empower African youths with hands-on training on vocational skills, we were at National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Kaduna state, Nigeria, to train the corps members on Paint Production and other hands-on skills such as processing of Tomato Paste, making Powdered Detergent and Yoghurt all for commercial purpose, this is to enable the youth have practical hands skills that will make them job creators instead of job hunters.
Mr. Abdullateef also used the opportunity to discuss with a group of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) volunteers at the orientation camp, enlightened them on the importance of the SDGs and how they can successfully implement at least one of the 17 SDGs in their host communities.
Towards the end of the orientation course, Mr. Abdullateef lectured the whole 600+ corps members posted to Kaduna state for their one year compulsory national service on the importance of leveraging on social media to search for opportunities, as a single opportunity can change the youths life.
During the Global Entrepreneurship Week, we partner with 21st Century Entrepreneurship hub in Nasarawa state, Nigeria to educate young entrepreneurs on the importance of Entrepreneurship to community and Nation development especially towards reducing poverty and unemployment which gave birth to insecurity in Nigeria.
At the end of November, 2020, iDixcover Opportunities was selected among 100 startups in Nigeria out of more than 4500+ applicants by Global Startup Ecosystem for is Nigeria Tech Summit Accelerator Bootcamp sponsored by US embassy in Nigeria.
